- Put the review dates in your calendar immediately; spacing only works if the reviews actually happen.
- End every session with the self-test question. Recognising material is not the same as recalling it.
- When you fall behind, use the cut list instead of abandoning the plan.
Why this prompt works
Rereading feels productive and produces little; retrieval and spacing feel harder and produce more. Making the model name a method per session prevents the plan collapsing into passive review, and scheduling forgetting recovery in advance keeps a bad week from ending the plan.
Variations to try
- Ask it to generate the retrieval questions for one chunk so you can see what a real session looks like.
- Add "I have two weeks, not two months" for a triage plan that accepts partial coverage.
- Ask for a version built around past exam papers if that is how you will be assessed.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Filling the schedule with reading sessions, which is the study method with the worst return.
- Cramming the review sessions into the final week, which removes the spacing that makes them work.
- Building a plan with no slack, then abandoning it entirely after one missed day.
